visits.

I'd like to update just on what's going on here...we've had random visits from john shen, sam li, nathan kelly, james lee...and a few others.

Just hoping that we can use these times to value our community! I've been going to sg every week and sometimes i'm so tired (from work that day), but then i leave and i'm like yay i went. and the bible discussions after really stick and help me recall the passage better :]

WHEEE. been to prayer meetings..randomly did contact evangelism and talked to lots of ppl, it was really disheartening to get rejected but good to know we were at least trying! pray for jorge that he responds to my email and comes to some summer stuff, as he just moved here a week ago and my most hopeful person! I led prayer this morning (aka i had the itinerary and topics so lead but not really since our groups are pretty small) and we are trying to get summer outreach/evangelism going!! PRAY PRAY PRAY. it's really early...but mark leaves for IVLI end of next week so we are going to try and organize this reallly quick for next tuesday.

grace is almost done with classes!! this friday. and melissa is moving out :[

ps-ann arbor summer festival is super fun! free music and people watching...just like hanging out outside. it's really awesome.

PPS-GRACE JUST SHARED A SECRET TO ME. IRIS DON'T BE MAD. THIS IS FOR THE GOOD OF THE HOUSE. kk. so did you know..that whenever iris is with grace, iris has to go poop. It's a thing, so whenever she has to go to bathroom, you will know why. teehee. wonder if caleb had some reason behind all his jokes after all..hm
anyone else want to share secrets while we are here? :]

finally posting!

updates: this summer i've been working at the hospital (3 days/week 12 hour shifts). it has been super tiring, but super rewarding!!! i can tell you all more stories of what I've seen God doing on 8D (my unit fyi). one cool one last week was when i was going into a room to move the patient into the chair and her visitors were leaving..turns out they wanted to pray for her before they left and they also mentioned they have been praying for the care givers as well!!! (they are pastors) and made me so happy to see that it's a 2 way street. Why i took on nursing is to help show God's love, to these very sick people :\ so YAY! I've been kinda lax in praying and quiet times..and the day or 2 before this was one of the few times i did pray, seeing how little I did and how God came through just reveals that if i discipline myself, the possiblities are endlessss :D:D:D

Grace and I have been hanging out alot, but i thought pictures are worth a thousand words...so here's some documentation for y'all. I am getting good at grocery shopping and cooking food and going to the pools..it's nice with my work schedule because i get full days off to enjoy the beautiful weather.

Harro :)

It feels like it's been forever since I've seen you guys :(

Aw, Iris your trip to Taiwan sounds so fun! I'm so jealous. You should post some pictures! I totally agree though, places like China and Taiwan are fun to visit, but after awhile, it gets old. I can't picture myself ever living there.

Okay, I'll update you guys on what I have been up to. :) I actually wanted to relax this summer, but I think I have scheduled more things than I can handle... LOL. Well first off, I'm working part-time at a Korean dry cleaners. I worked there last summer, and the lady is just the sweetest person ever. It was really chill working there, so when she asked me to come back, I agreed, b/c at that time, I hadn't found an internship yet. But then, middle of May, my mom got me an internship at her workplace, so now I'm juggling between two jobs. It sucks because basically I have no free time during weekdays.

So far, my schedule has been like, work, come home, help cook dinner (b/c I'm learning how to cook! Be prepared to be wowed by my cooking skills come August. Hehe.) and then research stocks ( b/c I joined an investment club at Ross thinking it would help... don't ask me why) and study (b/c my dad has something he calls "review and preview." So I would review my old textbooks and preview my new ones for fall.... yeah.. it sucks) And then for the weekend, its like.. FINALLY chill time! LOL. I feel like I know how adults feel now. xD

Apart from that, I'm hoping to save up for a SLR camera! I've been practicing with my dad's camera hehe. And then scouting around for a church. My home church has no college program, and so my choices are either going to the youth service, which is for high-schoolers, or attending the Sunday morning service with all the adults. The youth service feels a little weird, just b/c it's with younger people, and I don't recognize a lot of the younger kids now... haha I feel so old. But I guess I'll see how that goes. The morning service is conducted in Chinese, so... yeah. Haha, I'm also looking into some other churches with college programs around town.

All in all, summer has been pretty busy, but I think I prefer that to doing nothing. Although, I wish I had more time to just hang out and chill with friends. After all, some bumming around is called for, yeah? My only fear is that I'm going to get so caught up in the work and daily routines that I will push God to the side, so hopefully I can keep in sight the bigger picture.

Hmm that's it for now! I'm outt.

Oh. P.S. I'm thinking about dyeing my hair! Should I go lighter? or darker? Can't make up my mind.

hello :)

yayyy we made a blog :)

this is our last picture we had together!

What are you guys all up to this summer? Where are you and what are you doing and how has it been?

I just got back from Taiwan yesterday so today I've just been catching up on sleep, emails, and I cooked dinner tonight (cucumbers, shrimp, and baked chicken) :) Taiwan was a lot of fun...we toured and visited a lot of landmarks for the three weeks...we went to like every region of Taiwan. It was super tiring traveling around that much and after awhile I got pretty homesick just cause it's not super comfortable living in Taiwan and seeing only relatives gets pretty tiring (we're not that close to our relatives). I'm really happy I ended up getting Internet most of the time cause I got to go on facebook and email. Me and James had to communicate mostly by email and gchat just cause it was harder to skype or voice chat. But it's good to be back and makes me appreciate my house and being able to relax and talk on the phone with James and get online whenever.

I've been reading Prodigal God by Tim Keller and it's really shown me a lot about God. You can read my blog (irishasablog.blogspot.com) for some stuff I learned! Also been reading Hosea (going from Daniel to whenever) but reading the Old Testament sometimes is hard cause there's a lot of stuff about judgment and so I hope God will just show me more through that. Also I've been doing a daily prayer thing that Sara recommended (she's going to be my discipler next year). Sundays I pray praises/thanks, Mondays the world, Tuesdays my family/relatives, Weds my disciplee Ruby and discipler Sara, Thurs nonChristian friends (mainly Jillian my roommate last year), Fri AIV/Large Group ministry, Sat: me and James. There's a lot of other stuff I want to pray for but I think keeping it one thing a day has really helped me to remember to pray for these things and to pray in general.

Summer is a really hard time to stay connected with God but I've found prayer and talking to other people has really helped :) I hope we can help each other stay connected relationally and also spiritually. I know I need you guys!

Post soon! blogs are cool :)

Love,
Iris

FIRST POST OF THE SUMMER BABY~
